Giuseppe's Italian Bistro

We are from Hertfordhire but spend a lot of time in the north east, and this time wanted to hunt down a good Italian. After a google we landed on Giuseppes and boy oh boy were we not disappointed. We visited yesterday at 3.30pm so at such a random time I wasn't expecting incredible service/atmosphere but it was truly lovely. Very quick service, and the food.... Just insane. We visited Italy in June and we've been scared to eat Italian food since because we just knew it wouldn't live upto expectation, but this exceeded every expectation. It was as good as the beautiful fresh pasta and pizza we ate on the venetian riverside back in June. The tomato flavours in the lasagne and pizza were sweet and you can just feel it's made with love. And lastly.... the price.... I couldn't believe how cheap. £35 for lasagne, carbonara, pizza and garlic bread? I would expect and would happily pay £50-£60 for this quality of food. We will be back as soon as we next arrive in the north east, because we were all very very impressed.

Wow fourth time coming to Guiseppes and it is amazing, quality food, lovely friendly atmosphere makes you feel like you are in Italy. Guiseppe is such a lovely man, he is a hard worker and just wants to make sure everything is fantastico. If you want amazing quality italian food then this is the place to be! Introduced our families and they all say the same thing Grazie Mille Guiseppe you are a light that fills any room, even when you are rushed off your feet we appreciate everything you do! ❤️🥰

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Giuseppe’s Italian Bistro! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine smiles and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The service was spot on — attentive without ever feeling rushed. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and clearly passionate about what they do. Nothing was too much trouble, and everything was delivered with such charm and professionalism. As for the food — it was simply outstanding. Every dish was fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. You can really tell that the ingredients are high quality and prepared with care. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauces were rich and authentic, and the pizza was one of the best we’ve had outside of Italy. Even the desserts were irresistible — we left absolutely full and happy. The atmosphere added to the experience too: relaxed yet vibrant, with that authentic Italian feel where you just want to linger a little longer. Overall, Giuseppe’s is a true gem. Fantastic food, excellent service, and a warm, welcoming vibe that makes you want to return again and again. If you’re looking for proper Italian dining with heart and soul, this is the place to go!

Found this place by chance and only wish we’d found it sooner. Giuseppe himself answered when I phoned in to make a reservation, and was so gracious when I phoned again later on to let them know we were running slightly late. When we arrived, we were greeted by Giuseppe who was nothing but warm and personable the entire night. It really seems as though he is the name, face, and heart of this place. The food was something else entirely. My husband and I ordered 5 different things off the food menu in total and everything was spot on. Would have been 6 things but regrettably they were out of tiramisu by the time we were ready for dessert. We stuffed ourselves absolutely silly and would do it again because the food was that good. We can see this becoming a regular spot for us, and definitely coming back for the tiramisu! Thank you Giuseppe and team. ❤️

This guy is a life saver! Needed pizza dough for a party and these guys came through for me in a heartbeat! Provided dough sauce and cheese it was an amazing night!

Beautiful food, very friendly staff, great with the kids and good wine selection. I had the orecchiette it was gorgeous and my husband had the seafood linguine and the seafood was so fresh. The kids deal was excellent and a good portion size, my youngest got to make his own pizza and my oldest had the tagliatelle Bolognese which I tried and was excellent. Defo be back, thank you for a lovely family night out 🥰

Spent my birthday dinner at Giuseppe’s restaurant and it turned out to be a familia reunion! He’s such a heart warming person with passion. He treated me and my bf as good friends and even showed us his gf- the blue vintage car outside his restaurant, all the way from Italy! We had a wonderful chat and laughs. Food were absolutely amazing and not overpriced. Desserts was of course delicious. Thank you so much for the second to none hospitality and the passion of Italian food! We’re so proud of you and it’s great to meet Giuseppe.
